ACYOA sponsoring summer internship at FAR Children's Center in Yerevan, Armenia
The ACYOA Central Council is offering young adults ages 20 and older a unique hands-
on learning experience: a ten-week internship opportunity (May 29-August 8) at the
FAR Children’s Support Center in Yerevan, Armenia for the summer of 2012. The center
is one of the many projects of the Fund for Armenian Relief (FAR) which is partnering
with the ACYOA. Another partner in this important initiative is Birthright Armenia.
The center provides psycho-social and medical treatment to children (ages 3-18),
including those who are: homeless, abandoned, neglected, abused, and much more.
The children's center is the only institution in Armenia that performs crisis intervention and rehabilitation, the center is also a national full-service facility where children and their families can access shelter, counseling, outreach services, health care, and legal assistance 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
Interns will work with a well-trained multidisciplinary professional staff under the
guidance and direction of Dr. Mira Antonyan, Armenia’s leading expert in child protection.
They will become familiar not only with the activities of the center, but also with other
relevant child and family protection services and structures, both governmental and non-
Space is limited so we encourage those interested to apply early.
