Sarah Tavitian was born in Haverhill, MA and began attending St. Gregory the Illuminator Armenian Apostolic Church shortly after. In 2002, St. Gregory merged with Holy Cross Armenian Apostolic Church in Lawrence, MA as The Armenian Apostolic Church at Hye Pointe.

Sarah attended and graduated from Sunday School where she first learned God’s teachings as well as Armenian language and history. Sarah then joined Hye Pointe’s ACYOA chapter as a Junior member and was eager to learn from the Seniors at the time. For the last several years, Sarah has served as Chair of Hye Pointe’s ACYOA chapter. Her favorite events are Poonparegentan, Vartavar, and Soorj with Der Hayr Bible Studies!

Sarah joined the Parish Council in 2023 and is looking forward to the Consecration of her Church’s Sanctuary in October. Being on the Parish Council, Sarah has learned more about Church operations and what it means to uphold the needs of the Parish.​ Currently, Sarah helps facilitate Sunday School and teaches whenever needed. She is also a member of Daughters of Vartan.

Sarah has always appreciated the extensive outreach provided by Central Council. She is very excited and grateful for the opportunity to serve on Central Council and become a resource to other ACYOA chapters all over the country!
